FIRRMA FINSA ECRA_CFIUS

The Foreign Investment and National Security Act of 2007 (FINSA) led to the recognition that CFIUS needed to be updated. The enactment of FIRRMA and ECRA in 2018 provided increased flexibility for addressing national security concerns and expanding CFIUS jurisdiction to cover critical technology, emerging technology, critical infrastructure, sensitive personal data, and real estate transactions. These changes modernized CFIUS processes for more effective reviews.
