GIES_Background

GIES, the foreign investment review arm of the DOD, plays a vital role in safeguarding the U.S. defense industrial base. It assesses the impact of investments, proposes mitigation strategies, and strengthens international alliances. Additionally, GIES represents the DOD in responding to adversarial capital challenges, serves on CFIUS, provides recommendations, analyzes security risks, and monitors mitigation agreements.
