Defense Acquisition University works with several external entities in granting college credit to workforce members who have completed DAU courses. These programs include:
DAU's Strategic Partnership Program: Students may search the database to view memorandums of understanding for partners offering credits for DAU courses toward a degree or certificate program with participating educational institutions. Many of the participating schools will grant bulk credit based on your certification level and career field. Credits and incentives are available for a multitude of programs-from certificates to doctoral!
Don't see your preferred school on our list? Many colleges and universities accept ACE recommended credits toward their programs for DAU courses you have taken as part of your training! ACE is the major coordinating body for the nation’s colleges and universities. They represent nearly 1,800 college and university presidents and the executives at related associations, and are the only major higher education association to represent all types of U.S. accredited, degree-granting institutions: two-year and four-year, public and private. For 40 years, Fortune 500 companies, government agencies such as DAU, and labor unions have relied on CREDIT® to connect workplace learning and corporate training programs with college credit. DAU works with ACE to have the bulk of our training courses reviewed for College Credit Recommendations. Most colleges and universities will accept the ACE recommendations and apply academic credit for the student assuming of course, the course is relevant to the student’s degree program. DAU makes note of all courses that have been reviewed on the course concept card in the iCatalog and links you directly to the ACE National Guide to College Credit for Workforce Training.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are handled by non-DoD organizations such as (but not exclusively by) the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), and have broad applicability across public and private sector academia. For example, IACET authorizes educational providers to award the IACET CEU and DAU happens to be one of those institutions. Please click here for more information.
