Any good leader understands the vision they want to achieve and can describe it to their subordinates. When breaking down broader goals for others, you should generally focus on two parts:

  1. The task to be accomplished
  2. The intent or the desired result of the action

Of the two, the intent is always predominant. While a situation may change, making the task obsolete, the intent is more enduring and guides our actions.
