DoD PBL Guidebook

The DoD PBL Guidebook serves as an invaluable resource for Product Support Managers (PSMs) in establishing PBL arrangements that deliver affordable and effective support to the Warfighter. This 2023 update reflects recent changes in statute and policy, adds guidance for the Adaptive Acquisition Framework pathways, addresses Contested Logistics, and includes additional resources to assist PSMs in executing the 12-step Product Support Strategy Process Model. PBL arrangements remain a powerful tool in the PSM’s toolkit supporting DoD imperatives outlined in the National Defense Strategy.

Note: Several references cited in this video have changed. 10 U.S.C. 2337 was recently renumbered as 10 U.S.C. 4324. Additionally, the Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG) has been retired and relevant content from Chapter 4 has been incorporated into the . Product support policy previously contained in DoD Instruction 5000.02 Enclosure 6, Life Cycle Sustainment, is now contained in DoDI 5000.91, Product Support Management for the Adaptive Acquisition Framework. Finally, the DAU tools site is now located here.
