Description 

The Life-Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP) Outline provides a framework to think systematically and critically through the set of planning factors that must be integrated and communicated across the enterprise to achieve required sustainment outcomes.  In addition to the Outline, programs should also consult DoD Instruction 5000.91 and their respective Service or agency guidance.  The LCSP Outline is not intended to be a one-size-fits all template to simply copy and paste information into.  As directed by DoDI 5000.91 and DoDI 5000.02 (para 4.1b(1)), programs should tailor the LCSP to meet their needs.  10 USC 4324 and DoDI 5000.91 define LCSP requirements for covered and non-covered systems. DoD issued this LCSP Outline Version 3.0 in October 2022, replacing the January 2017 Version 2.0 in January 2017 that had superseded the original September 2011 version.  In addition to an overview video from the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment and a “Life Cycle Sustainment Plan: Updated Outline and Development of Data-Driven Product Support Strategies” webinar, DAU resources to assist Product Support Managers and life cycle logisticians in developing and updating LCSPs include LOG 0050 Developing a Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP) online training course, LCSP v3.0 rapid deployment training (RDT) and an LCSP ACQuipedia Article.
