Overview
OMIS™ is a Department of Navy (DoN) owned and maintained proactive obsolescence management tool for identifying, managing, and monitoring Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues. OMIS™ was developed and is maintained at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Keyport, WA. DMSMS support coverage includes platforms and systems within NAVSEA, NAVAIR, SPAWAR, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard. OMIS™ is used to manage DMSMS related issues for electronic and Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) items. OMIS™ also has capabilities to provide out-year supportability projections to help determine the most prudent actions in resolving obsolescence issues.
