Specialized Infrastructure Data Enterprise Reporting System (SPIDERS) 3D is a Department of Navy (DoN) tool that can iteratively assess new weapon platform geometry and their interface and interoperability in a 3D environment with existing or planned shore infrastructure. There is no license fee to access the SPIDERS 3D tool. Capabilities include:

  • Allows real time collaboration with weapon platform designers to visualize conceptual platform designs and configurations
  • Through the Telestrator tool, Enterprise collaboration is enabled by Created 3D scene viewpoints on which annotations (text, arrows, shapes) are added to convey commentary to others in the virtual scene and an email link to invite other potential stakeholders into a virtual session
  • Enables stakeholders to engage early in the platform acquisition process by visualizing both the new weapon platform and shore installation to assess potential interface and spatial impacts of planning and design alternatives
