The Shared Data Warehouse (SDW) is a systematic, single methodology for processing DMSMS notices of discontinuance, researching obsolescence issues in case format, and providing for a central repository for DMSMS management and case resolutions.

The SDW was developed and implemented through the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land and Maritime – DMSMS Program Office located in Columbus, Ohio. Currently DLA, Air Force and USMC have SDW Modules.

SDW characteristics include:

Provides an entry point for manufacturer notices of discontinuance for services and government agencies
Provides a distribution center enabling users to further analyze data and distribute appropriately
It can be customized for individual service and government agency business processes for data routing
Provides email communication to non-DMS SDW Case Management Modules
The Obsolescence Data Repository (ODR) provides a searchable and comprehensive database which stores DMSMS cases and resolution alternatives for DMSMS issues
The ODR Query Tool provides a query providing visibility of the complete life-cycle of a notice and/or case
Draws data from the Business Identification Number Cross-Reference System (BINCS) and the Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS)
Provides basic metrics in graphical form
