The US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Aviation & Missile Center (AvMC) Logistics Engineering Laboratory (LogLab) has developed and maintains a sustainment simulation capability for Army aviation using a government-owned software tool called Logistics Simulation (LogSIM). LogSIM assists Program Managers (PMs) and Product Support Managers (PSMs) in implementing Department of Defense (DoD) Lifecycle Cost Reduction approaches and assessing impacts to sustainability.
This LogSIM tool is used to provide PSMs with simulation-based analysis, early and often in the system design process, as inputs to major acquisition documents such as the Reliability Availability & Maintainability – Cost (RAM-C) Rationale Report, Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP), Cost Analysis Requirements Description (CARD), Product Support Business Case Analysis (PSBCA), Core Logistics Analysis (CLA), and Core Depot Analysis (CDA).
