The Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics and Materiel Readiness (L&MR) today announced the 2016 Office of the Secretary of Defense Product Support Manager (PSM) Workshop. The workshop theme is “Product Support in a Future Dominated by Uncertainty” and will feature government and industry presentations on An Uncertain Environment (Day 1), Innovation in Managing Uncertainty (Day 2), and PSM Critical Thinking – The Source of Innovation (Day 3). This Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (AT&L) approved workshop will provide an opportunity to develop the workforce’s Life Cycle Logistics competency in applying Better Buying Power principles, share best practices, and strengthen collaboration between industry and government leaders. .
The 2016 PSM Workshop will begin on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, with check in starting at 7:30 am, and will conclude at 11:45 am, on Thursday, April 7, 2016. The workshop will take place at the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) in Howell Auditorium, Scott Hall, Building 226 at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. OSD workshop leadership team has advised that a non-reimbursable $77.00 Catering Service Fee will offset the cost of two luncheons at the Fort Belvoir Officer’s Club, three continental breakfasts, coffee, tea, water, and light snacks. For those outside the local area who cannot attend the workshop, Video Teleconference Capability (VTC) will be available at select DAU locations outside the National Capital Region and additional dial-in sites based on anticipated attendance.
The PSM workshop agenda, directions, a link to online registration, and other administrative information for the 2016 PSM Workshop will be available through Friday, April 1, 2016 at http://www.acq.osd.mil/log/MR/PSM_workshop.html. Briefing charts will also be posted no later than Friday, April 1, 2016. Workshop attire is business causal and uniform of the day.
This event will be the fourth in a series of DoD-sponsored PSM Workshops conducted since 2011. DoD Product Support Managers (PSM), Program Managers (PM), life cycle logisticians, and their industry counterparts are highly encouraged to attend. Recommend registering early, as seating is likely to be limited.
